- Xerxes IX normally wears a red persian carpet costume.
- It changes to a blue palette when they sit on the Zanzibar Cushion (Red) in Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector+.
- The name "Xerxes" is based on Xerxes I, a King of Persia. The number "IX" is based on the common myth that cats have nine lives.
- Xerxes IX gives more fish in one visit than regular cats do, similar to Ms. Fortune and Tubbs.
