Cats

In Neko Atsume, players lure cats to visit their Yard with Goodies and Food. The player needs to exit the game in order for the cats to appear. Upon returning to the game, the player may see cats interacting with the goodies. For the cat to depart the Yard (and present the player with Fish or Gold Fish), the player needs to exit the game again, and the cat will eventually leave. Then, there will be an icon next to the amount of gold fish you have that says: Gifts Await!

There are currently 66 cats in the game, and each cat has a different range of items with which it will interact with. Therefore, the player has to set out different Goodies in order to be visited by all the cats. Each visit is tracked by the game, and logged in the Catbook.

Currently, 22 Cats are considered Rare Cats. While common Cats will approach a range of Goodies with just Thrifty Bitz Food, the conditions necessary for Rare Cats to appear are more specific than for the other Cats. Some of the rare cats can come with Thrifty Bitz, and can also choose not to have an expensive food. Most Rare Cats have unique interactions with their object of interest.
